"Practically speaking, I've replaced my heart for a turnip."
About the Music
Turnip Heart is the stage name of Noelle E. C. Evans, pedestrian singer/songwriter performing in one-man-band fashion on rajão*/ukulele and foot drums. The project is a field study in self-preservation inspired by elements of art therapy. Though predominantly indie-folk, the style ranges from spoken-word drum-pattern poetry to experimental sound-baths with loop pedal, with an influence of circuit-bending noise.

Debut Album: To Exfoliate a Calloused Heart
|
She'd just been removed from her grandfather's country. Uprooted. Two suitcases of belongings. Then, she stuffed her heart into a jar, replaced it for a turnip, and began again.
By day, she sought her fortune. By night, she rested wherever she'd land. These songs are the documents left from those undomiciled days. And, as legend goes, she would find her heart after all. credits released 2020 produced 2018 Vocals, Rajão, Foot Drums: Noelle E. C.
